Hi, I’m pregnant – And i smoke Cigarettes.

August 28, 2010

Here’s me introducing the book “The EASYWAY to stop smoking” By Allen Carr It’s been long enough guys – 15 years to be exact. I am 25, and my plan is to quit smoking FOREVER! Right now i have my doubts about the book and i agree with the part where it says fear is the reason why it is so hard to quit. BUT i am going to read it with an open mind, and hope it does what it claims.

I just gave up after 11 years, i felt terrible smoking while i was pregnant (i still am!) and honestly its the only reason i have stopped. I got to 24 weeks before i gave up but i had cut down drastically in that time!

It is SO hard, and i admire you. Keep at it!

    @duckingaunt
LOL, it’s nothing to worry about and has nothing to do with you smoking. You’re just paranoid.

You smoke 8 a day for 11 months and you complain about problems? It could not have done anything serious to you. People smoke 20+ a day for decades and they don’t get problems.

  6. duckingaunt on August 28th, 2010 11:29 pm

I got dull pain in my chest. Right half, upper part. It’s not that it’s real pain, but kind of a sensitive area just under the shoulder bone, near the neck. I was smoking for 11 months. About 6,7,8 a day. Stopped instantly after this pain arose. Never will smoke again. Never. Still young and want to live.

If you’re a smoker please stop. Don’t sabotage yourself.

    24 yrs old dude.

@heatherwaitgirl – One pack of Natural American Spirits: $8.00

  12. heatherwaitgirl on August 29th, 2010 2:00 am

Yay for you Emma. And IDK about where you live, but here in WA they just upped the price on cigs. My gf that smokes told me today that a pack is like $10. I was like holy crap…I stopped when I was preg w/ my 1st, then started again after him…stopped when preg w/ 2nd and finally quit for good…And just imagine how proud Ella’s gonna be of her non-smoking mommy!

@fcossell Congratulations… I can’t wait for that to be me… Halfway through the book – Hoping it does what it says it’ll do.

  14. BummaMama on August 29th, 2010 2:36 am

@halleyidle The book is teaching me that, it’s not a coping mechanism at all… At that point of stress it is, but it is actually making it worse – because now on top of stress – you HAVE to smoke. I am halfway through the book – and still skeptical. I am going to go smoke a cigarette now… Ugh.

@melodicmint What a wonderful response! XO

I smoked for 10 years and am now 2 12 years now without cigarettes. I quit using the Chantix pill and I highly recommend it. I don’t know if you can take it during pregnancy or not but if it is safe to use during pregnancy then I definetly highly recommend it.

Good luck to you! It isnt an easy thing to do but I believe that you can do it. I smoked since I was 13 and at 22 I decided I wanted to quit. That was a year ago this past Monday. Its amazing how fast a year went and it feels great!

@BummaMama most of us have addictions of some sort, some are easier to hide, but to come out and tell the world takes a strong person and thats what you are. x

You are a total inspiration. I just had my first baby 2 months ago and your vlogs during your son’s pregnancy helped me so much throughout my pregnancy. I find your candor and intelligence refreshing and thoughtful. Thank you so much for sharing your challenges with all of us.

you arent alone in your struggle girl. im 18 weeks and i still struggle with my addiction… i agree about the guilt… i started 9 years ago and when the stress hits, a cigarette is the only coping mechanism i feel i can depend on.. i dont know how to change the impulse without losing my cool. hope it helps you.. i look forward to your next video.. and i dont know u but i can say im very proud of you.

Are u saying you’ve been smoking since u were 10!!!

  24. shannorah on August 29th, 2010 8:45 am

My mom lightly smoked while she was pregnant with me, which was 25 years ago. It was acceptable then! I turned out fine! I hope the book works the way it says it does, that way you will be able to save alot of money and your health in the end. By the way my mom has bad emphazimah, cronic broncitis, and asthma. Part of her illness is from heredity and part from smoking for 30 years. Good luck what ever happens doesn’t make you a bad person!

  25. jfishbar on August 29th, 2010 9:01 am

Good luck :) It is possible, I smoked for 10 years and quit and haven’t looked back.
