Got something to say?

@bigbumnutsucker lol here in the UK we get it for free all together well every presciption is free here tbh !
On 2/29/10 i got my Rx and started taking the Chantix i noticed that first day that i smoked like 5 less cigs i have been smoking for almost 10yrs im 25 and i need to stop so im trying Chantix this is my 6th day my quit date is 2/5/10 and i am already dont to 5 cigs a day from like 15.
but make sure before you take these pills, you have a FUCK SMOCKING personality
I smocked for about 12 years and heavy. Tried to quit many times with no success until i took champix, i been smoke free for 2 years and feel great
Expect some side effects from the Champix but this stuff will get you off cigarettes…I was a 30 year pack a day smoker. Ex-smoker!!!!!
The side effects were worth it. Gastro, some concentration difficulties, mood swings, tongue swelling…..
this is amazing.. i smoked 24 yrs 1.5 packs a day i quit after 4 weeks of champix… its been 1.5 years now smoke free
i just started taking Champix today and i have heard about the mood swings but did you know it also can make you halusinate and can make you have severe depression? not for every one of course, but yeah i have smoked less today than ever and im pretty excited about this. my mom is on it and it was working for her for a while there but now i find packs of smokes hiddin in her house.. lol but either way i totally agree any one who wants to quit should try Champix,
i dnt know what the price of these are in the states now but i paid only 30 dollars for a months worth and i am going to get the other 1 month pack and finish the course of the medication, i read in a fax pack that 49% trying to quit succeed when they finish the 2 month medication course… its not a money maker (in australia anyway)
i only pay $5.40 for my champix
goverment pays the rest
i just took my first (1/2) pill (Champix) today (8 hrs ago). I smoke a pack+ a day. I just had a cigarette and I kid you not, it must be working because not only did I not feel like i really needed it- but I didnt really enjoy it. I expected that after 3 or 4 days on the pills- but after 8 hrs?? Its not psychological either. While its true I AM ready to quit, there is DEFINITELY something different now after just 8 hrs in how my body relates to the habit/ nicotine. Im encouraged : )
I’m on day 8 of CHANTIX and I cant beleive that I’m already smoking half of what I used to. The cravings just arnt there as much. This is good stuff!!!
I’m amazed by these pills. I personally am going to go the whole 12 week program because 1. It’s far too important at my age to not take every chance to quit. 2. It’s cheaper than smoking anyway.
I don’t think of Champix as the company that tried to gouge me out a couple hundred dollars but rather helped me save many thousands ($3500.00 per yr. – $35,000.00 in 10years!) and save my life which doesn’t have a price tag.
Are you still not smoking? I want to quit, but this new medication I’m on, has me smoking more than I have ever smoked in my entire life. The cravings are just outrageous right now.
It’s like that really strong urge to smoke while you are drunk, but only I am not drunk, so it’s extra not cool. :
You have done great. The key to sucessfull stopping smoking is wanting to stop, not believing it is the solution to anything ie stress/anger/boredom, keeping it positive & just avoiding that first fag…thankfully this has worked for me.
On the other hand, if you quit thirteen years ago, you didn’t have Champix at all – even for the first two weeks, like me – and you still quit.
The drug is a quit-smoking aid, not a quit-smoking be-all-end-all. It’s been more than a month for me – I haven’t smoked even a puff, and I’ve barely craved. I only took Champix for two weeks (instead of twelve) and I’m doing fine.
Sometimes you’ve got to know when to draw the line against greedy pharma companies.
I stopped smoking 13 years ago after 20 years of regular smoking…best thing I ever did – I feel much healthier & have saved loads of cash! If using Champix stick to the prescribed course of treatment…you need time to beat this addiction, don’t rush it & you will stay off for good. Keep the process positive in your mind & remember once stopped don’t smoke…don’t dabble! Best of luck!
Congratulations. Hopefully you’re still on (off?) the wagon and best of luck with that.
It’s been about two months for me since I quit. Since then I’ve had 3 cigarettes and about 4 pieces of nicorette gum. All in the first week.
From what I’ve read and my experience, the chemical addiction only lasts about a week. After that the addiction is psychological so I’ve found it easier to avoid following the same routines as when I smoked as there are fewer triggers for my cravings.
i havent had a smoke since new years eve…
Thanks for the info.
I quit once, cold Turkey for six months, and then started again, cuz i got drunk one day, and smoked a bunch of cigs.
Now, i’m trying again.I have reduced my smoking, from like a pack and a half/day to like 5-7 cigs/day.
I promised myself that after new years i would stop completly.
If i see i can’t do it, i will definetly get me these pills!
Congrads!
I quit with chantix too, it only took me 2 weeks. I didnt really feel the need after that.
Thank you for the reply!
I’m VERY glad you and the cat are good
Okay. Yeah, I think I’ll bring this up to my nurse. I smoke so much, the savings ALONE will allow me to afford many things I’ve very much been needing lately, like a new computer.
Thanks! And good for you. The pills really do make it easier. You’ll still need willpower, just not nearly as much as you would were you to quit aid-free.
The first two weeks cost me $60, and then the next ten would have been $300, had I bought them (This is in Canadian dollars).
As far as I know, you need a prescription to get them. Definitely talk to the nurse.
Also, thank you.
And yeah, we’re fine. ^_^
i wish you luck! im on my way to the pharmacist to get one…
EXCELLENT, Currie!
VERY glad to see YOU DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After seeing this, I think I’m gonna get the pills too. How much do they cost, and can you just go to the drugstore and get them, or do I actually have to go to a doctor. I see a nurse practitioner once a month (I’m mental) but I don’t know if she can actually prescribe that. I’ll ask. You input would be appreciated, though.
You look as beautiful or even more than ever, I STILL have that crush, and I hope your back and cat are okay.
